A key element of this work is their support of Net Zero Nation – the accelerator programme in Scotland powered by Notch – which is designed to guide SMEs on their carbon reduction journey.
We spoke with Jakki Ireland, Senior Procurement Manager at Grangemouth, about why Forth Ports chose to partner with Notch and the impact it has had.
Why did Forth Ports choose Notch?
“Our suppliers needed support – many felt they didn’t have a voice when it came to Net Zero. They wanted to do the right thing but didn’t know where to start.
When we explored the market, most carbon accounting platforms offered little more than an annual report. What we wanted was something more meaningful – a way to build suppliers’ understanding of their emissions and give them guidance on managing carbon reduction over time.

How does the Accelerator model support this journey?
“This is where Net Zero Nation stands out. The notch platform helps us capture carbon data, but the accelerator goes far beyond that. It provides knowledge sharing, clear explanations of complex legislation, and hands-on support for SMEs as they manage their transition to Net Zero.
